Principal Investigator

Professor Julien Lescar

With over 30 years of experience in X-ray crystallography, professor Lescar came to the lovely island called Singapore in 2002 and started his lab in School of Biological Sciences in NTU.

Postdoctoral Fellows

Dr. Abbas El Sahili

Trained in France during his PhD, Abbas decided to give the tropics a try and came to Singapore in 2015.

Dr. Wong Yee Hwa

Handling finance and purchasing. Long-standing member of the lab.

Dr. Syed Moiz Ahmed

Dr. Syed earned a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from NTU in Peter Dröge’s laboratory. In June 2020, he transitioned to a postdoctoral position at CSI-NUS in Prof. Ashok Venkitaraman’s laboratory, where they investigated the specific roles of BRCA2 in genome integrity and chemotherapy response. Dr. Syed joined us in August 2024, focusing on the development of next-generation antibodies and antibody memetics with potential therapeutic applications in cancer treatment.

Saranya Veerappan

Saranya is a Researh Associate, having completed her master's degree in Biomedical engineering at NTU (School of mechanical and aerospace engineering) in the year of 2012, with 6 years of experience in protein production and purification in bacterial cell and mammalian cell.

PhD Students

Zara, Chung Shi Ying

Final year PhD student, graduating in 2024. Zara's research focused mainly on the interactions between antimalarial compounds and its protein targets, including the biochemical and structural validation of purine nucleoside phosphorylase from plasmodium falciparum as a target of antimalarial compound MMV000848.

Chen Wei Min

Third year PhD student, working on protein ligases and antibodies.

Ankita R.

First year Ph.D. student. Her master's dissertation work in Protein Biochemistry and Biophysics sparked her interest in structural biology and bioinformatics. Her current research interest includes Phase-Separating Peptides as a Platform for Intracellular Delivery of Antibody Therapeutics.
